5 Reasons You Should Not Buy Streamline AI

TABLE OF CONTENT

We believe in Streamline AI. Obviously. We built it.

We think every in-house legal team deserves a better way to handle the pile of requests that lands on its desk every morning.

But honestly? Not everyone needs us.

Some legal teams already have it figured out. Contracts go out fast. The business always knows where things stand. Nobody has ever called legal a bottleneck (not even in a Slack DM they assumed legal would never see).

If that sounds like your team, here are five surefire signs you can skip us.

Every stat below comes from our 2026 Benchmark Report: The True Business Cost of Legal Friction, which we based on a survey of 450+ business professionals who work with in-house legal teams.

1. Your contracts come back in under a day

A contract lands in the morning and goes back out before lunch? Congratulations. You’re in very rare company.

Only 9% of business professionals get a routine contract back within 24 hours. 63% wait four business days or more, and 26% wait more than a week.

Here’s the thing: a lot of that waiting happens before anyone in legal even opens the contract. Requests show up by email, Slack, text, and the occasional ambush at the coffee machine. Someone has to sort them, chase down the missing details, and figure out who should take each one.

Streamline handles that part. Every request enters through one front door, with the details and context legal needs. It goes to the right person automatically. Approvals, escalations, and deadlines run themselves.

2. Your business teams always know where their request stands

Quick gut check. How many times this week have you typed some version of “No, [insert name], I haven’t reviewed your %$*&#@! yet”?

If the answer is zero, your team is ahead of 80% of companies.

35% of business professionals say they have no idea where their legal requests stand. Another 45% say they have to ask for every single update.

Those status checks waste everyone’s time. Each one pulls a lawyer away from actual legal work to answer a question a system could answer.

Streamline shows requesters where their request is at every step. The "any update?" messages stop, and your team gets back to the matters that matter.

3. Nobody ever goes around legal

Your sales team would never sign a vendor's paper without a review.

Your marketing team would never launch a campaign before legal signs off.

Right? RIGHT?!

The data has some bad news. 66% of business professionals bypass formal legal channels at least occasionally to keep projects moving. Among directors and VPs (the people most likely to have signing authority), that number climbs to 88%.

People skip legal when the prospect of waiting for a response outweighs the potential risk of bypassing the process. So make asking legal the easiest option. Streamline works inside Slack and Teams, where your business teams already spend their day, so submitting a request takes less effort than a workaround.

4. Legal has never cost you a deal

In your world, every contract clears legal in time for the deal to close as forecast. Your CRO never asks, "Is this stuck with legal?"

Must be nice.

For everyone else: 55% of business professionals say a legal delay cost them a deal or pushed one into a later quarter in the past 12 months. 36% say it happened more than once. In software and tech companies, the number jumps to 85%.

Eighty-five.

Most slow reviews trace back to a queue nobody can see. Streamline puts every open request in one view, with its status, its deadline, and how long it’s been sitting there. Your team can spot the deal that’s about to slip and get to it first.

5. Everyone already sees legal as a strategic partner

If the whole company calls legal a partner, and your team has more bandwidth than work, close this article. You've made it. Go play outside.

Most legal teams aren’t there yet. 48% of business professionals see legal as a strategic partner. The other 52% see a checkpoint that slows things down, or an outright bottleneck. At companies with 1,001 to 5,000 employees, that number rises to 66%.

That perception says very little about the lawyers themselves. The business usually knows it, too:

"Our legal team is under-resourced, given the size of the organization and the diversity of issues they must weigh in on. They are very good, but have limited bandwidth." - Compliance Director

Streamline takes the repetitive work off your team’s plate: intake, routing, status updates, and follow-ups. Your lawyers get time back for the strategic work the business actually wants from them.

Legal doesn’t have to be the bottleneck.

You get the idea

Contracts back within the day? Business always in the loop? Nobody going around legal? Zero slipped deals? The whole company calls you a partner?

You don’t need Streamline. Honestly, we're impressed.
